An afternoon #experiment with (1) a piece of delicious salami and (2) a sweet, yet utterly spoiled and lazy dog.
Piece of salami is placed on (3) corner of table. Dog smells salami but notices it is just out of reach.
Hypothesis: dog will develop initiative and salami ends up in (4) dog stomach within 3 seconds (“wolf / prey / kill” behavior).
As salami (1) is “obviously out of reach, bro“, dog (2) decides to sit in front of table (3) and wait for assistance until stupid dog owner (5, not visible) hands over salami (1).
–> “Couch potato” behavior. “Yes, my ancestors were wolves, but let’s face it, that’s a verrry long time ago.”)
Figure 1. t=60 seconds after salami placement. Dog attempts usage of facial expression “I’m so incompetent, but I don’t mind. I’m convinced you know how to resolve this.”
Figure 2. t=360 seconds after salami placement. Dog attempts usage of facial expression “It’s a long wait, but worthwhile in the end… I presume. What’s keeping you?”
